-
What are your qualifications?I hold a B.S. in Health Education and an M.A. in Literacy and am a certified health educator. With experience teaching grades 5-12 in diverse school settings across New York State, I bring 20 years of expertise and real-world classroom experience to Health 101's downloadable lessons and published works.
-
Can I assign any of this digitally to my students?Yes! Although everything is typically printed and used in a hard copy version with classes, our curriculum includes digital-friendly versions that can be assigned electronically, making it easy to integrate into your lesson plans.
-
You say this curriculum is skills-based. What does that mean?Skills-based health education goes beyond memorizing facts. It focuses on developing essential health skills—such as decision-making, communication, goal-setting, and self-management—so students can apply their knowledge to real-life situations and make healthy choices beyond the classroom.
-
What standards does this curriculum follow? Our curriculum aligns with the National Health Education Standards (NHES) to ensure consistency and quality in health education across all states.
-
Will my district pay for this? Many districts allocate funding for health curriculum resources. We recommend checking with your department chair, curriculum coordinator, or purchasing office to see if funds are available. We also provide invoices and purchase order options for school purchases when needed. Here is a helpful overview to share with your department or administration.
-
Can I share this with other teachers in my building? Each purchase is for a single teacher license, meaning only the purchasing teacher can use it. If additional teachers in your building would like access, we offer discounted multi-teacher licenses to ensure compliance while making the curriculum accessible to your team. Fill out the contact form & we will get back to you with a discount code to share.
-
Can I use this with my school's online platform? Most likely, yes! Our materials are provided in formats that work with Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, and other LMS platforms.
-
Is the Full-Year Curriculum package too much for a semester-long course? No. Many schools run health classes as a semester course, meeting daily, while others meet every other day or a few times a week for a full year. The curriculum is designed to cover the same total seat time, making it suitable for both formats.
